In 1866 minutes of the Cumberland Association record the organization of the Baptist Church at Springfield.  In 1911 a building committee was appointed to secure plans and specifications to see what kind of church was needed and what costs would be incurred.  A sum of $12,500 was subscribed for this purpose.

A commitee was formed in 1877 and in 1878 the building was completed on its present site. Many additions and renovations have been made since that time and the current building  was completed in 1963.

South Main Baptist Mission was built in 1985.

In 2002, we broke ground on our a new educational facility and fellowship hall and completed the building in 2003.

Over the years our building and plans have changed, but located in the Heart of Springfield, we are a rock solid foundation in the community.
